Consular Card

The consular card is the official identity document for Congolese nationals registered at the Embassy. It is required for most consular services.

What is it?

Official Consular Registration

The consular card (carte consulaire) is the identity and registration document required for Congolese nationals residing abroad for more than 6 months. It serves as:

  • Proof of consular registration with the DRC Embassy in Japan
  • A document that facilitates administrative procedures
  • A requirement for obtaining a new passport
  • Access to consular protection and emergency assistance

Note: The consular card is mandatory for obtaining a new passport. Registration with the Embassy is strongly recommended for all Congolese nationals living in Japan — even temporarily — in order to receive consular assistance in emergencies.
