Kinshasa
A 210-metre reinforced concrete tower built 1970β1974 by architect Olivier-ClΓ©ment Cacoub, intended as a national symbol comparable to the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty. Construction remains unfinished, but it is a landmark of the capital.

Sanctuaire Lola ya Bonobo
Near Kinshasa
"Paradise for Bonobos" in Lingala β a sanctuary caring for orphaned bonobos rescued from the wildlife trade, with teams of caregivers, substitute mothers, and veterinary staff.
RΓ©serve de Faune Γ Okapis
Ituri, North-East DRC
Covering roughly a fifth of the Ituri forest, the reserve protects around 5,000 of the estimated 30,000 wild okapis, alongside endangered primates and rich birdlife. Waterfalls on the Ituri and Epulu rivers and traditional Mbuti and Efe pygmy hunters are also found here.
La Chute de Zongo
Bas-Congo (Kongo Central)
A waterfall roughly 90 miles from Kinshasa, with drops of about 65 metres across the surrounding jungle canopy β a popular day-trip destination from the capital.
