Passport Services

New biometric passports for Congolese nationals in Japan. Children can no longer be listed on a parent's passport — each applicant needs their own.

The consular service centre does not offer an express or expedited passport service — please plan your application well in advance.

Applicants are cautioned against using paid intermediary services to process their application. The Embassy declines all responsibility for those who choose to use such services.

How to Apply — Step by Step

1

Email Account Creation

Create a personal email account — it will be used to receive notifications and your appointment details throughout the process.

2

NIF Acquisition

Obtain a free Tax Identification Number (NIF) via e-nif.dgirdc.cd. Processing is fast, typically within 24 hours.

3

5

Biometric Validation

The Embassy verifies your documents and schedules the capture of your biometric data (fingerprints and photo).
